The film "Atrás dos Olhos das Meninas Serias" is an adaptation of the novel "Falar", by the Minas Gerais writer Edmundo de Novaes Gomes, which tells the story of Ana, an intelligent and tormented woman who, after being abandoned for the third time by her ex -husband, decides to rescue his self-esteem by kidnapping him, to then make a fierce, violent and definitive outburst, in a universe where reality and invention are confused.

Living immersed in a world still governed by the character of the “protective man”, who no longer protects anyone, Ana finally realizes, after being abandoned for the third time that, although she is an independent woman and has already conquered an active position in the world, she always ends up submitting herself again to the same bizarre and meaningless dependency relationship, governed by outdated rules.

So, irritated and determined to rethink her relationship with the world, she kidnaps Leo, her ex-husband, and uses physical and psychological torture to deliver a visceral and forceful outburst, almost an exorcism, to try, finally, to take her reins of your own history and rethink yourself in a new world in which you can perhaps be the protagonist in your own life.
